When to Replace Pool Lounge Cushions

There is no single replacement interval for every pool deck. Inspect support, fit, fabric condition and drying behavior instead of deciding from age alone.

Look beyond fading

A faded cover may still hide a supportive insert, while a good-looking cover may hide compressed foam. Check whether the cushion recovers after use and supports the sitter evenly.

Inspect the construction

Check seams, zippers, ties and hinge areas. Note persistent odor, material damage or an insert that does not dry as expected, and discuss whether cleaning or replacement is appropriate.

Keep an inventory for larger decks

Label each lounge model and cushion size. A replacement plan can then distinguish high-wear pieces from the rest, while checking current fabric availability before trying to match an older set.
