Plan storage before it is needed
Identify which pieces can be moved indoors and where they can be stored without blocking exits. Include cushions, pillows, umbrellas and other loose accessories in the inventory.
Treat covers as everyday protection
A fabric cover is not a storm restraint and does not make a furniture set hurricane-rated. Do not rely on ties or cover fastenings as a substitute for an appropriate securing or storage plan.
Check and dry after weather passes
When it is safe, inspect frames and materials for damage. Allow wet cushions to dry fully before storage, and follow the specific material’s care instructions rather than applying harsh cleaners by default.
